Why see a registered dietitian nutritionist instead of a health coach?

I have completed intensive training to get the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist title. For my title of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, I received a degree in my field, completed 1200 hours in supervised professional practice, and passed a rigorous registration exam.

As an RDN, I am required to complete continuing education in order to maintain my certification— but even if I wasn’t required to, I would still stay on top of the latest science and information.  When it comes to your health and wellbeing, you want to trust a qualified, caring professional.

Who can benefit from nutritional counseling?

Nutritional counseling with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) can help you make sure that your diet is fueling your mind, body, and soul. While a practitioner might vary in specialties, they all use science-based evidence. When choosing your RDN, you want to make sure that they have goals and values that align with your principles. If you want to work with someone who is kind, practical, and professional, we might be a great fit!

Currently, I do not work with patients with eating disorders, athletes seeking sports nutrition, or individuals under the age of 18.

What should I do to prepare for my first visit with you?

During your free 20-minute consultation, we will end the call by scheduling your initial consultation. Before your initial appointment, complete the onboarding form and personalized assessment form. If you are insured under one of my contracted insurance providers, I can give you the information you need to contact your insurance provider to verify coverage before your appointment.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions you need will vary on your specific goals. I am happy to work with clients for as long or as little as they need to reach their goals. Additionally, the amount of support needed will be different for each individual. This is why seeing a registered dietitian is effective: unlike an app or generic diet, I customize your plan to give you the support you need.

Do you take insurance? How do I find out?

I am currently contracted with Cigna for in-person appointments only. I also accept HSA, credit, and debit cards. If Cigna is your provider and you want to verify coverage, I can help you get the information you need during our free consultation.
